Bangkok Airways Boutique Lounge (Suvarnabhumi Airport) Review

What's great about Bangkok Airways is that it offers complimentary lounge access to its Boutique Lounge for all its passengers, regardless of class of travel!

Bangkok Airways, a private Thai airline, brands itself as "Asia's Boutique Airline" and truly lives to its title, offering all its passengers exclusive lounge access, and hot meals even on one hour domestic flights! Bangkok Airways operates on major domestic trunk routes within Thailand, as well as to regional destinations, which includes Singapore, Mandalay, Siem Reap, Malé, and Dhaka.

As I was travelling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on flight PG217, I could access the Boutique Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Entering the lounge, I was very warmly welcomed by the lounge attendants, who proceeded to scan my boarding pass and issue me a ticket with the complimentary Wi-Fi access code.

The lounge's interior design, lighting, and colours are bright and cheerful, and I thought the food and drinks selection are in line with this "happy" theme. A life-sized lady-bear stands near the entrance, beckoning passengers to visit the lounge and take photos with her.

Even though the lounge was crowded in the morning when I visited, there were plenty of seats available, from high chairs to ottomans to cushioned seats.

There are several finger food items on offer, including two types of Khao Tom Mad (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves), sandwiches, cookies, and muffins. In addition, popcorn are available for the young and the young at heart! The food items do appeal more to those with a sweet tooth.

A selection of cold drinks, as well as hot tea, and coffee machines (dispensing black coffee, cappuccino, mocha, hot chocolate, latte, and espresso) are available as well.

What was most lovely was the lounge attendants were constantly topping up the food and drinks, as well as clearing the trash from the tables. Service was most attentive and excellent!

Parents will appreciate the Kids' Corner - a play area where their children can play and enjoy themselves, and allowing them some time to relax before the flight.

For adults, local newspapers (in Thai and English), and magazines are available. In addition to complimentary Wi-Fi, there are computers for passengers to freely use.

As the lounge is exclusively operated by Bangkok Airways, friendly announcements are made to lounge guests before the start of boarding of Bangkok Airways flights, hence there's no worry about missing your flight when enjoying time at the lounge.

The provision of a quality selection of food and drinks, as well as traveller-friendly amenities, and attentive and welcoming service, makes the Boutique Lounge an exclusive pre-flight privilege not to be skipped when flying with Bangkok Airways.
