United Airlines Announces Its Longest Route: LAX-SIN

United Airlines (UA) has announced its longest route: a daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Singapore, which will be launched on October 27, 2017.

The flight will take 17 hours and 55 minutes from Los Angeles to Singapore, and 15 hours and 15 minutes from Singapore to Los Angeles, covering a distance of 8,700 miles.

This new route will unseat the current records for both the longest nonstop flight from the United States and the longest scheduled Boeing 787 service: a daily service from San Francisco to Singapore, also operated by United Airlines. The San Francisco to Singapore flight covers a distance of 8446 miles, with a flying time of 16 hours and 20 minutes outbound, and 15 hours and 30 minutes inbound.

Both flights will be operated by the Boeing 787-900 aircraft, which has a seat configuration of 48 United Polaris Business Class seats and 204 United Economy Class seats (which include 88 Economy Plus seats), for a total of 252 seats.

With the new nonstop service between Los Angeles and Singapore, United Airlines is set to end its Hong Kong to Singapore 5th freedom service on 27 October 2017 (Singapore to Hong Kong on 28 October 2017). From 28 October 2017, United Airlines will thus, operate two daily flights to Singapore, via San Francisco and Los Angeles.

In Economy Class, United Airlines offers complimentary food, soft drinks, juices, beer and wine, tea, coffee, and on-demand inflight entertainment.

UA37 Departs LAX 20:55 / Arrives SIN 06:50 (+2)

UA38 Departs SIN 11:00 / Arrives LAX 10:15

The San Francisco to Singapore service timings are as follows:

UA1 Departs SFO 22:55 / Arrives SIN 06:15 (+2)

UA2 Departs SIN 08:45 / Arrives SFO 09:15
